Things to Do:
A Bed of Roses Bed and Breakfast is located just 10 miles from the South gate of Yosemite off of Highway 41. And Mariposa Grove (now open) is right there. A hiking trail is just 3 minutes by car from our door. We are only five miles north of the town of Oakhurst, with restaurants, large grocery stores and a movie theater. We're at 3,300' elevation so we get a few dustings of snow each winter. Just enough to enjoy but not enough to make it difficult to get around. We like to say we are above the fog and below the clouds. Indulge yourself on a 2-½ acre mountain forest of Manzanita, Pine and Cedar trees.
Yosemite, one of the wonders of the world has many breathtaking hikes, waterfalls, tours, restaurants and vistas to enjoy. Another of the many sights to visit while you're here is Bass Lake. There is summer fun for everyone, with boating, jet skis, & fishing, just 10 minutes from us. The towns people have a casual air with all the friendliness and help you could ask for. The weather here is exciting in the winter with occasional snow covering the great mountain ranges and the trees. Spring and summer are beautiful and meant to be enjoyed in a slowdown and relaxed mode.
The Mariposa Grove, near Yosemite's South Entrance, contains about 500 mature giant sequoias. Giant sequoias are perhaps the largest living things on Earth at almost three thousand years old and 96 feet around at base.
In the winter months Yosemite Ski and Snowboard Area offers vacationers five lifts, nine downhill runs, and miles of cross-country skiing and snowboarding.

Highway 49 is approximately 6 miles away. Drive through Gold Country, shop for antiques, and learn about the history of the Wild West.
Mariposa (about 30 miles away) is a fun older town, preserving the feeling of years gone by. Stop in and say hello to the friendly staff at the Mariposa Coffee Company.
