Things to Do:  

  

       A Bed of Roses Bed and Breakfast is located just 10 miles from the South gate of Yosemite off of Highway 41. And Mariposa Grove (now open) is right there. A hiking trail is just 3 minutes by car from our door. We are only five miles north of the town of Oakhurst, with restaurants, large grocery stores and a movie theater. At 3,300' elevation, we like to say we are above the fog and below the clouds. You will like the view.

       Yosemite, one of the wonders of the world has many breathtaking hikes, waterfalls, tours, restaurants and vistas to enjoy. Another of the many sights to visit while you're here is Bass Lake. There is summer fun for everyone, with boating, jet skis, & fishing, It is just 10 minutes from us. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The weather here is exciting in the winter with occasional snow covering the great mountain ranges and the trees. Spring and summer are beautiful and meant to be enjoyed in a slowdown and relaxed mode. Autumn is our favorite season.

Yosemite Falls is the tallest waterfall in North America, and the 5th highest free-falling waterfall in the world at 2,425 feet. There is also a Lower Falls area near Yosemite Village.

The Mariposa Grove, near Yosemite's South Entrance, contains about 500 mature giant sequoias. Giant sequoias are perhaps the largest living things on Earth at almost three thousand years old and 96 feet around at base. 

In the winter months Yosemite Ski and Snowboard Area offers vacationers five lifts, nine downhill runs, and miles of cross-country skiing and snowboarding. 

El Capitan is one of the largest exposed granite monoliths in the world, standing 3,593 feet from base to summit. 

Tuolumne Meadows, at 8,575 feet elevation, is the largest sub-alpine meadow in the Sierra Nevada's.

Glacier Point, the High Sierra at its best, has breathtaking views of the Valley floor and spectacular waterfalls.

The Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad, just a few miles from A Bed of Roses, is an exciting 4-mile railroad excursion at Yosemite Park's south gate on Highway 41.

Bass lake is located in the Western Sierra Mountains, just 5 miles from us.

There are three places to rent jet-skis, boats and more: The Forks, Millers and Watersports.

Highway 49 is approximately 6 miles away. Drive through Gold Country, shop for antiques, and learn about the history of the Wild West.

Mariposa (about 30 miles away) is a fun older town, preserving the feeling of years gone by. Stop in and say hello to the friendly staff at the Mariposa Coffee Company.

White water rafting in nearby Merced River is only six miles away. Choose from eight rafting companies. One option of rafting companies is Zephyr Rafting.

There are two beautiful golf courses in the area. Wawona Golf, located just inside the south entrance to Yosemite (15 miles from us).
